Ghirardelli Award Winning Brownies

Brownie

Ghirardelli chocolate tastes wonderful and I love to eat their Intense Dark 60% cacao chocolate bars. I usually keep few chocolate bars at my cubicle because when I'm stress or overwhelm at work, I eat a piece or two as a stress reliever. It tastes very good when I sip it with green tea. The dark chocolate melts and gives a nice velvety taste. It's an indulgence that washes my stress away.

I bought their Sweet Ground Chocolate & Cocoa some time ago and saw their award wining brownie recipe on the back canister. I had all the ingredients in hand and decided it was a perfect day to bake on a nice warm sunny weather.

Makes 9 brownies

Ingredients

2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
3/4 cup Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate & Cocoa
2/3 cup unsifted flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1 cup Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Chips (optional)

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Using a spoon, stir eggs with sugar and vanilla. Then add butter and mix.
3. Sift Sweet Ground Chocolate with flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into egg mixture. Add nuts. Optional: stir in chips.
4. Spread into a greased 8" square pan.
5. Bake for 30 minutes.
6. Wait for the brownies to cool down and cut into thirds.
